Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj: The Embodiment of Devotion and Spiritual Love
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj was a divine spiritual master and a shining light of love, wisdom, and devotion. Born in 1922 in Mangarh, Uttar Pradesh, he was honored with the rare title of Jagadguru at just 34 years old — an honor previously given to only four saints, including Adi Shankaracharya.
Kripalu Ji Maharaj’s core teaching was that selfless love for God is the true goal of human life. He explained that both knowledge (gyan) and devotion (bhakti) are essential, but it is only through heart-felt devotion that God can be realized. His teachings were rooted in the Vedas and Upanishads, yet presented in a simple, soul-touching way.
Through his poetic compositions such as Prem Ras Madira and Bhakti Shatak, he revived the spiritual practice of kirtan — emotional, melodious singing of God’s names and pastimes. He founded Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP) to promote education, health, and spirituality.
Though he left his mortal form in 2013, his legacy lives on through his teachings, kirtans, and charitable works. For seekers of divine love, Kripalu Ji Maharaj remains a timeless source of spiritual inspiration and divine grace.
“Love God with a pure heart — that alone is true happiness.”
